Relief Association
The purpose of the West Metro Fire-Rescue District Relief Association is to provide disability, service and death benefits to its members and their survivors. The employee earns a pension benefit in the form of a defined contribution, paid by the cities of Crystal and New Hope to the relief association. Relief association meetings are held monthly; all employees are invited to attend. The relief association also has a social component, organizing and funding several social events throughout the year. A representative of the relief association will contact each new probationary employee to schedule a meeting to further explain membership details, membership fees and the function of the relief association.
