School Programs

One of the reasons the United States has the worst fire statistics in the world is the lack of fire safety education in the classroom. The fire prevention staff at West Metro Fire-Rescue District is working hard at developing new fire safety curriculum for each grade level pre-K through High School. The curriculum will fit each grade level’s abilities.  Each year there will be different topics for the kids to learn with some review.  If any teachers or educators are interested in getting involved in the department of curriculum, it would be much appreciated.  We want to get more involved with the schools in our communities.  If you are a teacher or educator and are interested in getting more information or want to have input in the curriculum, you can contact Shelby Wolf, Fire Inspector at 763.230.7006.

If you are a teacher or educator and would like to schedule a fire safety presentation at your school/classroom, contact Shelby Wolf, Fire Inspector at 763.230.7006.  Or if you have preschoolers that attend any kind of day care and wish to have a fire safety program for them, contact Shelby at the above phone number and we'll schedule a time to come out to visit.

Station Tours

Public education tours are available at all three fire stations.  The ideal group size is 6-20 people.  The age range is best from pre-school all the way up to seniors.  Special accommodations can be made for larger groups and evening hours.  We have a lot of Cub Scouts, youth groups, cay care providers and many other different groups come to see the fire station and all the equipment.  The department can accommodate interested parties almost any time and also deliver a presentation on fire education prior to the tour if you'd like.  The tour and the program will be customized to ensure age appropriate materials.  You are welcome at any of the three stations.

Contact Shelby Wolf, Fire Inspector at 763.230.7006 for more information.
