Income
West Metro Fire-Rescue District Paid-on-Call firefighters are not volunteers, they are paid an hourly rate of $13.66  when called to respond to emergencies as well as when participating in training, station duties and public fire education. Probationary firefighter staring pay is $8.20 hourly, step pay increases are provided as certifications are earned.

Pension
West Metro Fire-Rescue District Paid-on-Call firefighters earn a retirement pension and are 40% vested in the plan after five years of service, and 100% vested after 10 years of service.
